Shanghai is the Asian edition of the same SIAL network as the Paris show, which we return to in October.

At the pavilion
Uzbekistan, under one roof.
SIAL Shanghai ran from 18 to 20 May at the Shanghai New International Expo Center in Pudong. We showed our export range from Uzbekistan's national pavilion, on a stand shared with other Uzbek producers.
A national pavilion is a different proposition from a stand of your own. Buyers walking it are there to compare one country's producers against each other, so the questions arrive faster and they are sharper: caliber, moisture, certification, what a container costs delivered.
Meetings
Three days, and a table.
Over the three days our team met buyers, distributors and food manufacturers at the table, working through specifications and supply questions the way they are usually worked through: in person, with the product on the table between you.
Thank you to everyone who sat down with us. Shanghai is a long way from Samarkand, and the conversations that start at a table like this one are the reason it is worth the trip.
Why a national pavilion is different
Buyers are there to compare one country's producers against each other.
